IP Rating class
The enclosures of ROSE Systemtechnik are used in a wide range of applications with different environmental conditions. In order to offer a safe protection for sensitive electronics even under the hardest conditions, our enclosures are provided with appropriate characteristics.
Our aluminium standard enclosures conform to degree of protection IP66 according to DIN EN 60529 and are therefore dust- and waterproof. In order to guarantee you 100 percent certainty that our enclosures are suitable for the corresponding requirements, test the tightness of our enclosures using precisely defined procedures in our in-house laboratory.
Protection class test according to DIN EN 60529
In our in-house laboratory we carry out IP protection class tests according to DIN EN 60529. This provides information about the influences against which the enclosure is protected and to what extent the ingress of foreign objects or moisture is prevented.
The respective IP standard is indicated by an IP code. The IP Code consists of the letters IP followed by two digits. The first digit of the IP code indicates the protection against contact or ingress of solid foreign objects and dust. The ingress of water is indicated by the second digit of the IP code.
Dust protection test (DIN EN 60529)
With the help of a dust chamber we carry out the protection class test according to the protection classes IP5X and IP6X. The enclosure is continuously dusted with talcum powder over the entire test period.
IP X5 | IP X6 | |
---|---|---|
Negative pressure | At or without a negative pressure of 20 mbar | At 20 mbar negative pressure |
Test duration | 8 hours | 8 hours |
Degree of protection | Protected against ingress of dust in damaging quantities | The ingress of dust is completely prevented |
Water protection test (DIN EN 60529)
During the water protection test, we test the protection against water jets, temporary immersion and hot water jets in our in-house laboratory. We use various nozzles to set the required water volume flow and water pressure.
