Railway technology enclosures resist strong temperature variations
ROSE supplies a broad range of rail technology enclosures in stainless steel, aluminium and polyester. Thanks to their universal structure, they are suitable for a large number of both indoor and outdoor applications. Among other things, they accommodate pantograph elements and the electronics of heating systems. They can also be found in numerous other uses, such as video monitoring systems, radio warning systems, detection systems and measuring portals, for instance. All rail enclosures supplied by ROSE conform to the EN 45545 standard for Fire Protection in Railway Vehicles. They are fitted with special silicone or polyurethane (PU) seals, enabling them to withstand even severe temperature fluctuations (–40 to +90° C/silicone: up to +130° C) during everyday operation.
Enclosures for a wide range of railway applications
The ROSE range includes the right enclosure solution for every rail application. Stainless-steel enclosures are exceptionally corrosion-resistant and are therefore frequently selected to protect the electronics of traction, motor and brake control systems. ROSE’s polyester enclosures consist of a special glass-fibre-reinforced duroplastic material. These enclosures regularly score extremely good ratings for lateral spread of flame, smoke density and heat generation. They possess high resistance to UV radiation and are therefore frequently selected for outdoor applications.
The NovoTronic series of aluminium profile enclosures have been developed to accommodate PCBs in data, PC and C&I applications. This enclosure type’s integrated PCB guide grooves makes it ideal for monitoring systems in trains. NovoTronic enclosures feature a recess for membrane keypads and provide optimum conditions for the installation of displays. EMC seals on the enclosure tops protect highly sensitive electronics against electromagnetic interference fields.
ROSE also supplies E30 enclosures for applications requiring especially high fire-safety requirements in tunnels, while a broad range of explosion-proof products is also available. All enclosures can if required be equipped with the necessary electronics and finished individually to match customer requirements.
