ROSE at the 8th university information day for the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, at the Minden campus

The Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences’ University information day was held at the Minden campus from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, 1 June 2017. All interested parties had the opportunity of gaining information on studying at the Minden campus. The focus was on practice-integrated courses of study in: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and engineering management. ROSE Systemtechnik showcased itself as an attractive company for would-be students in the context of the work placement exchange.

Around 240 people interested in studying received information on a course of study at the Minden campus. The event was opened in the largest auditorium by Professor Dr. Oliver Wetter, the dean of the Minden campus. The speech of welcome was followed by division into smaller groups, in which the courses of study at this campus were discussed. Visits to laboratories were possible in parallel to the addresses on the individual courses. A total of eleven courses were presented, and several laboratories visited, after which the work placement exchange for practice-integrated courses of study was held in the afternoon.

The highlight of this year’s university information day was the presentation of the companies offering practice-integrated courses. In this study model, theoretical phases at the university (twelve weeks) alternate with practical phases at the company (eleven weeks). Only companies who operate a cooperation agreement with the university can participate in this programme.

ROSE Systemtechnik is a cooperation partner of the university, and offers practice-integrated courses in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and engineering management, with various emphases. Herr Korff, Human Resources manager, presented ROSE to the around 240 potential students in an address held during the afternoon. This was followed by interesting talks at the ROSE stand. Here, Andreas Korff was assisted by Matthias Kaspar and Detlef Böker, and two current practice-integrated students at ROSE, Timo Scheiba and Gerhard Wolfert, who spoke about their everyday study and work activities during the practical phases. The team responded to all questions, on a spectrum ranging from the general to very specific topics.

“We were pleased to take the opportunity of presenting our company at the university information day at the Minden campus and of being able to talk to young people interested in a dual course of study. We were especially pleased that we were able, thanks to the work placement exchange, to fill a still vacant work placement in the technical field, with effect from 1 August 2017. Our conclusion: 100% on target!”, Andreas Korff summed up.

Many thanks to all participants, and to the Minden campus of the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences for this extremely successful event!
