Career exploration at ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH

On Tuesday, 28 March 2017, we opened our doors for interested young people for career exploration at ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH. Fifteen girls and boys  from Class 8 of the Herder Gymnasium grammar school in Minden obtained insights into the fields of work in commercial and business training occupations and into practice-integrated courses of study.

Here, we are supporting the NRW state government’s ‘No exam without prospects for the future’ initiative, which aims to ease pupils’ transition into working life.

Under the supervision of expert ROSE employees at all times, the pupils were accompanied by our trainees and students through the everyday activity of an industrial company and, in all cases, received not only general information on our products, but also the impressions of these young job starters.

After a short presentation of the company and an overview of our broad and diverse range of products, complete with illustrative examples of applications, the young people had the opportunity of obtaining information on the various training occupations and courses of study. Details of training durations and study contents were received with just as much interest as information on vacations and pay.

The illustrative portion of the day began with a visit to our order team, and continued into our in-house laboratory, where special tests are performed in order to assure at all times  the quality of our industrial enclosures.  In the Surface Finishing Technology department, these ‘specialist workers of tomorrow’ learned a good deal about the surface-treatment processes, including, for example, powder coating, painting and screen printing. The various modes of machining, such as milling, drilling and cutting, for example, aroused general astonishment in many cases.

The guided tour through the company closed with a visit to the Assembly department, where the assembly of mounting rails, the equipping of enclosures, and cable connectorisation take place, for example.

After a glance at the training workshop, the young people also had the opportunity of demonstrating their technical comprehension in a practical exercise. Small electric motors were assembled, and started.

We are confident that we have given these young people a well illustrated impression of everyday working life at ROSE Systemtechnik GmbH. This may make the choice of an appropriate training occupation or course of study a little easier for them. This has been, in any case, an extremely interesting and informative day for all involved.
