Ex-protected cable glands from ROSE ensure safety

The enclosure specialist ROSE Systemtechnik has developed ATEX-/IECEx-certified cable glands especially for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. They are available in various materials as well as for armored and non-armored cable types.

ROSE cable glands feature a high degree of protection

ROSE offers the cable glands in the ignition protection types Ex db, eb and tb (ATEX zones 1, 2, 21 and 22). Depending on the version, they are supplied in nickel-plated brass and optionally in stainless steel and feature a high degree of protection (IP66, IP68/acc. to IEC 60529).

Properties of CGA and CGU cable glands for armored and non-armored cables

Ex-protected CGA cable glands from ROSE for armored cables are certified according to the international standards ATEX (CESI 18 ATEX 012 X) and IECEx (IECEx CES 18.0007X) and are easy to install. Their individual parts are captive as they are fixed by O-rings. In addition, a reduction ring ensures great flexibility in cable selection. The cable glands have silicon seals and are suitable for temperature ranges from -60 to +130 °C. They are made of nickel-plated brass and optionally available in a stainless steel version and are suitable for cables with:

  • single wire armoring,
  • aluminium wire armoring,
  • steel strip armoring,
  • wire braid armoring
  • and flexible braid armoring.

Explosion-proof CGU cable glands from ROSE for non-armoured cables have been certified according to ATEX (IMQ 18 ATEX 024 X) and IECEx (IECEx IMQ 18.0005X) and can be used in temperature ranges from -60 to +140 °C (Ex eb/tb) or -60 to +80 °C (Ex db/tb) depending on the type of protection. Users have full flexibility in cable selection, and a triple seal insert allows a wide sealing range. Both the Ex cable glands for armored and the versions for non-armored cables are suitable for use in gaseous and dusty atmospheres (G/D).

Ex-equipment for cables rounded off by ex-protected HTPM plastic cable glands

ROSE also has ex-protected HTPM plastic cable glands made of polyamide in its range. They have been certified according to ATEX (IMQ 18 ATEX 025 X) and IECEx (IECEx IMQ 18.0006X) and can be used in all applications of Ex eb and Ex tb ignition protection types. The cable glands are designed for temperature ranges from -60°C to +70°C, have protection class IP 66/68 and may be installed in systems in zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. They have an impact resistance of 7 Joule. ROSE’s extensive Ex equipment for cables is rounded off by HIHP plastic sealing plugs for Ex eb and Ex tb (IP66/68) applications.
