Enclosure systems produced in a climate-friendly manner

ROSE Systemtechnik is one of the first German enclosure manufacturers who introduces an environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015. The strict standards ensure responsible use of natural resources and apply to the German plants as well as the branches in Hungary, India and China.

TÜV Süd has certified ROSE that the new environmental management system meets the strict requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard. The certificate is renewed every three years and in the meantime confirmed by annual checks. In addition to the audit of its environmental management system, ROSE also underwent the “Supplier Assurance” of the VW Group in 2022 and passed it with “very good”. In this test procedure, compliance with environmental protection and human rights standards is checked.

Commitment to environmental protection and sustainability is a matter of course for ROSE: Since the beginning of last year, the housing specialist has obtained 65 percent of its electricity from climate-friendly sources. “By switching providers, we were able to more than triple the share of green electricity in our energy mix within a short period of time,” says Frank Dorpmüller, Head of Quality Management at ROSE. The optimization of the processes in the powder coating unit is also one of the successes in terms of climate protection: Here, the running time of the oven was reduced from five to three days.

Sustainability is also a top priority in the area of logistics: ROSE developed a particularly environmentally friendly reusable packaging in the recycling system for the transport of its Panel PCs. In the coming years, the comprehensive energetic renovation of the buildings at the company headquarters in Porta Westfalica is also planned. “We are investing several million euros for this and are installing, among other things, a large photovoltaic system on the roof that will generate additional climate-neutral electricity for our production,” says Dorpmüller. As part of the modernization, the warehouse will also be brought up to the latest state of the art and equipped with driverless transport systems and fully automatic storage and retrieval machines.

As the market leader for housing systems, environmental protection and quality have been important to ROSE for many years. In 1988, the company was the first in the industry to develop a quality manual in which all production processes were precisely defined and described. In 1994, ROSE was also a pioneer with the introduction of a quality management system according to ISO 9001.
